Rules of the Photo Competition

§1 General

1. The organiser of the photographic competition ‘Walking around Bydgoszcz’ (hereinafter: the Competition) is the Data Community Poland
2. The Competition is addressed to the participants of the SQLDay Lite Bydgoszcz conference on 18-19.10.2024.
3. The aim of the Competition is to promote Bydgoszcz, in particular tourist attractions, related to urban sculpture and art in public space.

§2 Theme of the Competition

1. The subject of the Competition is to capture in photographs the indicated points of the city of Bydgoszcz during a walk, covering a selected attraction (or several):
   • The sculpture of Kazimierz Wielki on the square in front of St. Catherine’s Church,
   • The statue of Marian Rejewski on Gdańska Street,
   • „Przechodzący przez rzekę” sculpture, on the Brda River,
   • The ‘Wanderer’ monument on Gdańska Street,
   • The statue of Master Twardowski on a tenement house in the Old Market Square. (We would like to remind you that the statue leans out at 13:13 🙂 )
2. As part of the competition you can also take a photo of another attraction from the list provided here.
3. Photographs should include any of the above heroes and the SQLDay, SQLDay Lite or Data Community Poland logo.

§3 Participation in the competition

1. Photos taken are posted in the comments of dedicated posts on the Data Community and SQLDay social media profiles (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin).
2. Photos to be considered for the competition must be posted by 15:30 on Saturday 19 October (before the last block of sessions)

§4 Judging criteria

1. Judging will be based on:
   • Compatibility with the theme of the Competition,
   • Artistic qualities of the photographs,
   • Originality of shot and interpretation of locations,
   • Number of positive reactions in social media
2. The works will be judged by a jury consisting of organisers who live in the city of Bydgoszcz on a daily basis.

§5 Prizes

1. Prizes will be presented at the closing session.
2. The best photos will be used to promote the event on the social media of Data Community Poland and SQLDay.

§6 Copyrights and consents

1. By submitting photographs to the Competition, the Entrant declares that he/she holds full copyright to the photographs submitted.
2. The Entrant agrees that the Organiser may use the photographs for promotional purposes free of charge, including publication on the website, in social media and in materials promoting the City of Bydgoszcz.
3. Works infringing third parties’ copyrights will be excluded from the Competition.

§7 Final provisions

1. Submitting photos is tantamount to acceptance of these Rules.
2. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Regulations if necessary for the proper conduct of the Competition.
3. In matters not regulated by these Regulations the Organiser decides.
